ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Two-year-old Dixie Wallace is home from the hospital after nearly drowning near the her family's home last week.
Dixie Wallace was all smiles, in her mother's arms, Sunday afternoon.
Dixie's mother, Tiffany O'Sickey, said, "It brings joy to my heart to see her here and acting goofy."
The two year old was in critical condition at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville until Friday.
The family told deputies she was playing in the house and wandered off.
"I was in total disbelief. I was horrified to see her come out of the water that way. It was just not a picture I ever imagined seeing, it was so terrible," said O'Sickey.
O'Sikey told Action News it was a rough, long week.
"The most thing was stress, stressing about how she was, and how long she is going to be in the hospital and what the outcomes of everything was going to be," said O'Sikey.
O'Sickey said the outcome was just what she wanted. She said she's happy to see her little girl running around, laughing and playing.
She said they'll be keeping an even closer watch on her little girl.
"There's no knowing in the future what could happen so we're going to be watching her closely," said O'Sickey.
