GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida linebacker Antonio Morrison was arrested again Sunday. This time police say the 19-year-old football player was barking at one of their police dogs.

The Alachua County Sheriff's Office originally responded to a disturbance at the Scottish Inn Motel along SW 13th Street in Gainesville around 2 a.m.

The arrest report states that while police were conducting their investigation Morrison and group of others walked up to the marked K-9 vehicle and taunted the police dog by barking.

Morrison was arrested on the scene and charged with interfering with a police animal and resisting arrest without violence.

Harassing a police dog is a second-degree misdemeanor in Florida.

Morrison was previously arrested June 16 after allegedly punching a bouncer at a Gainesville nightclub.

Florida coach Will Muschamp says that he has not yet decided on a punishment for Morrison related to that first incident.

"I'm extremely disappointed in Antonio Morrison's decision making," Muschamp said in a statement. "He has been suspended from the team and will miss at least two games to begin the season."

@ nativejax: i must apologize native... i hadn't realized you were a female , i suppose that explains all the pent up hostility to a man for just barking at a dawg. the hostility you project just through me off kilter , i would never expect that kind of talk from a woman , ,,, again i apologize.

Again why can police officers kill their dogs in hot cars and no charges? Wouldn't average citizen go to jail for it? Barking at dog is form of free speech. Crazy, but still free speech. Why is it ok during protest for a police dog to go after a child and citizen has to take the dog's attack on his arm? That happened few years ago and the officer just sat there as the dog lunged for the crying child. It was Hispanics protesting something outwest. Don't tell me that dog should be allowed to attack a crying baby. Anyone who says a working dog has more rights than human being is insane.

Seriouly people, this fool has had other problems with the law that make him less than a stellar citizen, but all of this over barking at a dog, come on. Even though it was a police dog I don't know why this is even news. Sure its a crime committed by one of the Gators, so what, its a second degree misdemeanor which ranks it right up there with littering or Jay walking. How many of you insenced people have ever committed one of those crimes?

Yeah I'm for real hepi, So you think I'm rude??? I don't give a rats ass if its sitting in a Patrol car or on your ugly face, ITS ON DUTY. The only 'mut' in these comments are the ones who ADD to the stress, time and trouble, it takes for Police officers to do their job WITHOUT YOU IDIOTS adding to it. Yes, some dogs have died in patrol cars, and I believe the officers should be held more accountable., but while IDIOTS like this 2 time looser, keep breaking the laws and keeping Officers working overtime, stressed, and underpaid, they will make mistakes too and they also would NEVER of needed dogs help in the first place. But I guess we NEED idiots like you, who scoff at the laws so our legal system will keep Officers in employment and the jail cells full now don't we? If a CANINE IS IN THE CAR, IT'S ON DUTY. Go back to scratching your fleas and keep your ignorant insults to yourself...Sounds to me like you know all about being caught by a Canine Officer huh?..Hope it hurt like h3ll, you IDIOT WOMAN HATER. I bet your mama didn't slap that ugly MOUTH off you enough for you to talk the way you do, you mouthy idiot don't even know me. And for calling me a 'dog that would bite',? I pity your poor mama., its clearly evident you don't have a foul mouth, brain dead idiot.

Watched a police dog the 2 years ago during a protest go after a baby. Only thing saved it was man who took the bite in the arm. Additionally how come there has been 2 police dogs to die in overheated cars. one in Fla a few years ago, and one in Ga just recently with no charges for animal cruelty, or killing a police officer? Seems to me the law only applies to common people not other police officers who abuse or kill the animals. If it is crime then why are the police above the law when they do it?

hatetherev - Obviously, you only read the headline and not the entire story. "Harassing a police dog is a second-degree misdemeanor in Florida." "Morrison was previously arrested June 16 after allegedly punching a bouncer at a Gainesville nightclub." "I'm extremely disappointed in Antonio Morrison's decision making," Muschamp said in a statement. Any of this sinking in for you???
