MAYPORT, Fla. -- More than 200 Sailors stationed on board the USS Klakring (FFG 42) and helicopter squadron HSL 42 detachment 2 have returned home just in time for the holidays. The sailors pulled into Naval Station Mayport Saturday after a six month deployment to the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Coast of South America.

During their deployment, the ship participated in intelligence surveillance reconnaissance in support of anti-piracy operations utilizing unmanned Fire Scout helicopters.

Fire Scout is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) that provides warfighters at sea with tracking and precision targeting support in battlefields and urban environments.

Some of the port visits during the deployment include Augusta Bay, Sicily, Souda Bay, Crete and Djibouti, Africa.

This is the last homecoming for the ship. The USS Klakring will be decommissioned in March.
