Union County murder suspect arrested

UNION COUNTY, Fla. -- Union County police have arrested a man on murder charges after a home invasion and armed robbery in Mulberry.

Walter "Tank" Morrison, 31, was arrested in connection with the home invasion and armed robbery that took place on Sept. 22. The Union County Sheriff's Office was contacted by Polk County detectives about the possibility of Morrison being in the area.

On Friday, his vehicle was found in woods in the southwestern area of Union County. The vehicle had been reported stolen. Morrison fled the scene and police used K-9s to try to find him.

Morrison was booked into the Union County jail on Polk County warrants of first-degree murser, burglary and battery and is being held without bond until he is extradited to Polk County.

He has a criminal record that includes attempted homicide, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, aggravated assault, robbery and fleeing to elude.
