Victim of fatal crash identified
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The driver who crashed into a tree to try and avoid a head-on collision with another car has been identified as 52-year-old Patsy Ralph Simeoli.
The crash happened early Thursday morning on County Road 209 just south of Watkins Road.
According to the crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol, Mr. Simeoli was traveling south on C.R. 209. Witnesses told investigators another car drove into Simeoli's lane. He traveled onto the west shoulder of the road to avoid hitting the car head-on. Simeoli hit a tree and was killed.
