YULEE, Fla. -- Nassau County Commissioner 38-year-old Stacy Johnson took office in 2008. Since then she has had a couple of run-ins with deputies.
Last March, deputies broke up a bar fight where Johnson was punched in the face at the Ritz-Carlton on Ameilia Island. She was arrested Friday for DUI.
"She should be prosecuted like everyone else," said one voter.
Deputies arrested her in her front yard after a caller told 9-1-1 she was swerving and almost hit another driver head on. "She is a bad representative for Nassau County," said another voter.
She looked dis shuffled and was even smiling in her mug shot, but her constituents say this is no laughing matter.
"You shouldn't get behind the wheel drunk. I've already lost enough cousins and family members to drunk drivers."
Action News went to her home to ask the tough questions. No one answered the door even though Johnson's car was parked in the driveway.
We also called her government issued cell phone hoping to reach her, but got this message instead. "The customer you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time."
"I think she's a person and a human being and she should be treated like a human being. Everyone makes mistakes," said a voter.
"I hope they ask her to step down before November," said another.
According to the arrest report, Johnson refused to take a sobriety and breathalyser test. But police did say her eyes were bloodshot, and she smelled like alcohol.
