Voting starts for Forrest High name change
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Nathan B. Forrest students have a lot to think about Tuesday as they head home from class. Their homework is to rename their high school and their deadline is Wednesday.
"We should have a saying in the process as well," said senior Alexis Knight.
They'll have to pick from two names: Westside High, after the school's geography, and Firestone High, after the street the school's is on.
Students and faculty get to cast paper ballots in school Wednesday. Graduates and neighbors who live in the school zone will have their opportunity Thursday through Saturday.
The votes will be tallied and a decision will be announced Jan. 7.
