BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. -- Officials say much of the city of Starke lost water Thursday morning because of a water main break.

The Bradford County School District is taking precautions and has canceled school at Southside Elementary.

Students will be available for pick-up at Southside Elementary School until 9 a.m., at that time the remaining students will be transported to the Bradford High School Auditorium.

Pre-K at Madison Street Baptist is also canceled for the day.

Officials believe that most of the water will be restored by noon.

An advisory tells residents not to drink the water until the city of Starke puts out a notification that it is safe to drink.

The remaining schools in Bradford County are operating as normal.
