JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Cold weather has out a freeze on travel plans Friday. Eight flights out of the Jacksonville International Airport were canceled. Dozens more were delayed.
On a scale of 1 to 10, traveler Eric Kasheta said, his frustration level is "probably about an 8, considering we have a 2-year-old daughter who's with us, too."
He and his family have been trying to get to Philadelphia. But they were already at the airport when they learned their 6:30 a.m. flight had been canceled.

Kasheta said, "Earliest we could get a flight was tonight, not getting us there until midnight."
Not having any other option but to wait, they set up camp inside the Jacksonville International Airport.
And they have their headache meds handy, just in case icy weather cancels their next flight too.
"So far, we haven't heard anything. But there's always that possibility. Hopefully not," Kasheta said.
Most of the flights canceled were headed to New York's LaGuardia Airport. Others were headed to Boston and Newark, N.J.
Airport officials say the best way keep track of delays and cancellations is to follow airports and airlines on social media.
