JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville is kicking off it's first ever "Week of Valor" Monday. The event is a celebration to showcase the city as one of the most military friendly cities.
The events began Monday, with a Military Appreciation Luncheon and will culminate Monday, November 12, 2012 with a Veterans Day Parade to be held in downtown Jacksonville.
Perhaps the biggest event of the week will be the Navy Marine Corps Classic. For the game, the deck of the U.S.S. Bataan is being converted into a basketball court. The teams, The Florida Gators and the Georgetown Hoyas will play Friday, November 9, 2012 at 9:00 p.m.
