JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Our week long "First Alert" about the big weather change has arrived just in time for the weekend.  Most of the steady rain will diminish across metro Jacksonville from west to east early this afternoon.  The more steady rain will persist south of Jacksonville for Starke, Green Cove Springs south to Palatka east to St. Augustine.  Little or no rain for Southeast Georgia.  Temperatures will not change much thanks to thick cloud cover with highs only in the 50s to low 60s - some 20-25 degrees below average.  "Local Nor'easter" conditions will take over Sunday with gusty onshore northeast winds.  Conditions will be particularly harsh at the beaches where there will be rough seas and surf, a high rip current risk, some rain at times, winds of 15-30 mph with higher gusts and temperatures only in the low to mid 60s.  While not as harsh inland, Sunday will still be cool with plenty of cloud cover, scattered showers and breezy northeast winds with highs only in the mid 60s near I-95 to the low 70s west of Highway 301.  Send First Alert weather photos and video ** here **.
