JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Trees are down on multiple homes and at least one car in Ortega Village following a suspected microburst.
The damage is centered around 118th Street on the Westside. JEA has restored the power but some neighbors are staying in hotels because they can't get into their homes.
We spoke to one person who was in her home when the trees fell. "I was cooking tree came through went through my house," said Meredith Edwards.
An Action News viewer sent us a photo of another area affected by the weather. A tree came down on power lines on Davon Street at 107th Street.
It's a sign of things to come. The First Alert Weather Center says the weekend will be stormy and more trees could be toppled due to a combination of saturated ground and wind.
