JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A warm day in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia will precede a strong cold front, which is expected on Tuesday.
The First Alert Weather Team is forecasting temperatures to peak near 70 degrees Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, showers will be limited in the short term. In fact, we'll have periods of sun.
Skies cloud over into Tuesday as the front moves through and settles to our south. In the colder air north of the front, precipitation begins as rain but may mix with or change to sleet or snow by Tuesday night.
A WINTER STORM WATCH is in effect for north and central Georgia from 5 PM Tuesday to 5 PM Wednesday. The winter storm watch may shift into Southeast GA with time. We'll give you the "First Alert" if and when that happens.
Certain aspects of the forecast may change. However, as of Monday morning, the forecast is calling for just cold RAIN in Jacksonville Tue. into Wed. North and west of Jacksonville, especially in Georgia, the rain will mix with or change over to sleet or freezing rain or snow (or a combination)...as the precipitation ends late Wednesday morning.Download the new First Alert iPad app
