Yes he was wrong for bringing the pocket knife, but at least it wasn't a gun like most kids would've done. Most teachers nor principles wouldn't have done anything. If anyone haven't noticed , bullying is a crime now. What he should have done was go to the police. So why isn't the other young man arrested for bullying he the one that was in the wrong....HELLO!!!

What the heck happened to Stand-Your-Ground and common sense? The kid that was attacked is charged criminally and may be expelled because he DEFENDED himself yet the aggressor who attacked him is given a 10 day holiday from classes?!? This is absurd! No wonder bullies rule the world. No wonder many feel frustrated and angry with the world!

I remember a day when all boys carried pocket knives and the world didn't consider them a weapon. The only reason that these problems go on at school is because the students know that there is a real good chance that there will be no consequences to their actions. Parents don't discipline and they don't allow the schools to discipline and then they all sit around and wonder why this country is infested with brats.

I'm a little confused here. Not one single story has mentioned the physical characteristics of the two children. In my mind it is two completely different things if a 5 foot 120lb child stabbed a 7 foot 300 lb child attacking him, or a 7 foot 300 lb child stabbed a 5 foot 120 lb child. These distinguishing characteristics have been thoughtfully withheld from the narrative we were given. Why is this?

He admitted he was wrong for bringing the knife to school but if he tried to tell someone at home and at school he was being beat on, THEN HIS PUNISHMENT IS TOO HARSH. His daddy needs to get an attorney and sue.

Need to find out who started it but regardless he brought a weapon to school. If the other kid is bully he needs to pay for his actions harshly as well. Fact is the boy parents should be glad he is not expelled permanently for the knife. If he can prove he was attacked by more than one other kid then there might be exception made. Sometimes bullies roam in packs like wolves.
