JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police arrested a woman accused of opening fraudulent accounts through a local credit union to steal more than $63,000.

Janie Smith, 33, is facing 31 counts of bank fraud, according to the JSO Facebook page.

Police say Smith, also known as "Pumpkin," opened accounts through Navy Federal Credit Union.  Once opened, the JSO Economic Crimes Unit said Smith would deposit checks through ATMs.

The checks were returned, but cash withdrawals and point-of-sale transactions went through.

The credit union lost $63,013.51 due to the transactions.

Police identified Smith on surveillance video as the person depositing the checks and withdrawing cash from 31 separate accounts.

Smith also faces charges of fraudulent use of personal identification information and organized fraud.

That face shows no remorse at all. Very sad.

My first thought was that she looks mighty pleased with herself. Unfortunately, with the trial and incarceration, she will end up costing the taxpayers far more than she stole. We need Penal Farms, where they must earn their keep and learn a trade.

She looking like she did nothing 'wrong' with her smug mug., I am sure she, as many other 'thugs' thieves, feel entitled it to them for some sorry reason or another, so they are 'justified' in stealing...What a loser.
