Woman accused of purse snatching found in Clay County

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have found the woman accused of stealing purses out of shopping carts.

Authorities believe 19-year-old Jessica Ann Mystkowski was targeting elderly shoppers, mostly on the Westside.

She was arrested and charged with grand theft earlier tonight by the Clay County Sheriff's Office. She could face additional charges.

Police say the suspect follows women in the store, and when they turn away she sneaks up and snatches their purses.

Police say Mystkowski then goes to the nearest Winn-Dixie store and buys up Visa gift cards with the victim's credit cards until the credit cards can't be used anymore.

Investigators believe the suspect has struck multiple victims over the past month.
