JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A jury found a woman guilty of Attempted Murder in the First Degree and Aggravated Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer.

In 2010, Shanda Nedreia Merritt and Raymond Austin lured Carl Davis to a Jacksonville parking lot and shot him in the chest. Merritt, 36, was Davis' ex-girlfriend.

At the time of the shooting, Merritt was driving a stolen car. Jacksonville Sheriff's Officers spotted the vehicle and tried to pull Merritt over but she refused to stop. The car was a rental vehicle belonging to 83-year-old Charles Soukup.

Merritt is charged in Soukup's 2010 kidnapping, murder, and armed robbery. Merritt, Austin and two other people are accused of kidnapping Soukup from the Jacksonville International Airport and then killing him. Soukup's body was found near the airport. A trial date has not been set in the case.

Merritt faces life in prison for Davis' attempted murder. She will be sentenced the week of November 19, 2012.
