ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The 20-year-old who was involved in the Saturday morning scooter crash on US Highway 1 has been taken off life support.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Chelsea Wantz was rear ended on her scooter by a Ford Taurus early Saturday morning on US-1 near the Deltona exit. Both vehicles caught fire after the wreck.

The Taurus was driven by 19-year-old Christopher Langford of St. Augustine. He and his passenger, Matthew Lightsey, were not injured during the crash.

Wantz was taken to UF & Shands Jacksonville in critical condition. Monday afternoon she was taken off life support after her organs were harvested to be donated.

The FHP investigation is ongoing and charges against Langford are pending.
