ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- When 70-year-old Kathleen Allegrone's face hits the pavement, you can almost feel her pain.
For the first time since her run-in with police, Action News finally spoke with Allegrone. She wouldn't open her door and told us she was advised by her attorney not to speak.
We asked her how she was feeling and if she suffered a broken nose.
"I have a broken life," she said. "Goodbye."
What happened to her hasn't stopped others from talking.
"I'm speechless. I don't even know how to respond to that," said Hannah Allen.
As bad as it may seem, so many want to see this video. It's gone viral thanks to concerned citizens like Ilena Ullrich. She said she posted it on Facebook to alert others to what was happening in her community.
"Whether you're drunk or not, you have every right to be safe from the police. That's what they're there for, that's what we pay them to do and for them to either not catch her or throw her down like that just infuriated me," said Ullrich.
Locals agree this isn't going to be an easy case of right or wrong for either side.
"I wouldn't say it was all her fault or all his fault. There's two sides to every story," said Ullrich.
