Woman pleads guilty in shooting death of ex-boyfriend
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Arianne Myles pleaded guilty on Thursday to second-degree murder in the death of her ex-boyfriend Harold Davis.
The plea deal carries the consequence of life in prison with no chance for parole, but the court is still considering a sentencing agreement.
Myles was initially charged with first-degree murder. Prosecutors said they planned to seek the death penalty against Myles in May. They argued she shot Davis in broad daylight outside a Blanding Boulevard post office in March 2013.
A judge granted the defense's request for a pre-sentencing investigation. It will be handled by the Dept. of Corrections.
A sentencing hearing has been set for February 3.
