JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A woman turned herself in to police Wednesday for stabbing her boyfriend in the neck with a yard lamp and killing him.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was called to the 1000 block of Pearce Street early Sunday morning in reference to a stabbing.

Police found Ronnie Hill, 46, bleeding from his neck. He was transported to UF & Shands Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries.

Hill's father told police that his son's live-in girlfriend, Tonya Bell, admitted to stabbing him after an argument. The investigation revealed that Bell grabbed a yard light during an argument and stabbed Hill in the neck and chest after he swung his fist at her.

Hill died from his injuries on Monday afternoon.

Bell turned herself in to police Wednesday afternoon. She was booked into the Duval County Jail and charged with murder.

No...ONLY if he swings at you AGAIN...big difference. You have a right to defend your self. example: If you feel your 98 pound body would not survive another blow, especially to your head, especially by someone far bigger...SHOOT FOR THE BODY MASS AND KILL THE SOB. What if this had been a little old Grandma? Does she have to wait for the second blow to possibly kill her? EVERY SITUATION IS DIFFERENT, that's why we need MORE FAIR JUDGES to fill those seats to evaluate each victim/abuser crime accordingly.

Because if she was a total 'skank' like some, she would not have turned herself in and admitted it. She would just kept on living in denial as some do on here.

"After he swung his fist at her"..NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO HIT ANOTHER...Sounds to me like she grabbed the first thing she could find when he came at her again...of course since he died, she will probably not get a 'fair' trial.
