Woman tries to cash $3,300 check from someone else's account
ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- An alert bank manager helped prevent the victim of a purse theft from being victimized even further.
A woman walked into a Bank of America on Blanding Boulevard and tried to cash a check for $3,300 on November 26.
The woman handed over a license and a Bank of America card, reportedly stolen from a woman's purse in Jacksonville that morning.
The check was written from an account belonging to a second victim who had her purse stolen from her car last month in Gainesville.
The bank manager questioned the woman about the items. She ran out the front door and drove off in a black Dodge Avenger.
The woman had black hair, and wore a black shirt and printed pants. Investigators said she had a tattoo on her chest.
If you recognize the woman, call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS. You will remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $3,000 if your tip leads to an arrest.
