JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Charles Zimmer has reached a deal with Episcopal to stay at the school for 2 more years.

Episcopal School of Jacksonville Board of Trustees announced on Friday that Zimmer will remain in his role through June 2015

"Charley's many strong attributes set a high standard against which any candidate for Head of School must be evaluated, including his familiarity with the School, and his leadership abilities," said Board of Trustees Chairman Rob Clements.

Zimmer will be involved with the celebration of Episcopal's 50th anniversary.

The search for Zimmer's replacement will begin in the spring of 2014.

Zimmer returned to the school he once led following a deadly shooting on campus last year.  Former teacher Shane Schumerth shot and killed Head of School Dale Regan last March before taking his own life.  Zimmer was the Head of School from 1997 until retiring in 2006.
