JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Trustworthy, reliable, a good man. Those are just three ways friends and co-workers described George Zimmerman to FBI agents.

On the flip side, a former fiancee told agents Zimmerman could sometimes be "territorial" and "over-protective" and that he had a "bad temper."

Like him or not, they all agreed on one thing, George Zimmerman "never exhibited any biases or prejudices against anyone."

It's just some of the insights we're getting into the man who admitted to shooting and killing an unarmed teenager in self-defense. The State Attorney's Office released hundreds of pages of new documents on Thursday.

"Something's wrong with him. He's coming to check me out. He's got something in his hands. I don't know what his deal is," Zimmerman told police on February 26th, the night he came face to face with 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

He says Trayvon attacked him, and that he fired one shot into the teenager's chest in self-defense. One officer with the Sanford Police Department indicated Trayvon's clothing may have had more to do with his shooting than his race.

He said gang members in the area often wear hoodies. The investigator described Zimmerman as "overzealous" with "a little hero complex."  But again, the investigation said Zimmerman is not a racist.

The newly released evidence also shows Zimmerman went gun shopping in the weeks after Trayvon's shooting, telling one vendor he was afraid for his life and that he needed more guns.

Not long after that, he would be in jail, charged with second degree murder. Trayvon's family believes Zimmerman is a trigger-happy wanna-be cop, who zeroed in on Trayvon because he was a black kid walking through a white neighborhood. But according to the FBI documents, this isn't a black and white issue.

Right now, George Zimmerman is charged with second degree murder. He's awaiting trial in a safe house in Central Florida, after having posted a million dollar bond last week.

I am tired of hearing about this situation. If he wasnt doing anything wrong he wouldnt of been shot. Neighborhood watch people dont just go around shooting people. I look at it this way its just one more future thug off of the streets and no i am not racist, i am a african-American.

And I want to add that "No, sometime the system doesn't work right. And sometimes it absolutely looks like it is discriminating, biased, and predjudicial. Especially the way the News reports it. But still, in the 21 century, for someone to scream 'ALL whites are racists' when something like this happens, is just plain wrong. RESPECT IS SOMETHING YOU EARN AS A PERSON AND A PEOPLE. BUT to almost start riots and spread MORE hatred just erodes away at any respect that generations of good people have worked hard for and earned. In today's society every parent out there needs to get a hold of their OFFSPRING and keep them OFF THE STREET. ESPECIALLY IF THEY SEE SIGNS THEY ARE F*ING UP, If you really love them and want them to survive and succeed you 'sit' on them and guide them at home, or they WILL BE guided by whoever they meet in the street, that's a fact. And THAT to me, is a LIFETIME job and commitment, as a parent, and I can blame the world if my child gets killed out there, but it would be ALL my fault for not knowing where he's at. Get them off the streets, "out of site, out of mind" is dangerous, especially here in Jax when a there so many thugs roaming free that are up to no good. Instead of using Travon's memory as a positive example to "listen and do what your parents say and stay off the streets", it was used to almost set of a full scale hate-riot that only a few hateful misinformed people backed. No one wins in this, no one.

" Travon's family believed Zimmerman is a trigger happy cop wanna-be who zero'd in on their kid because he was black". HOW SORRY IS THAT?. It has to be tough to bury your own child/man has they did, but they failed him. This family should be charged for trying to incite riots and putting an illegal 'wanted' poster out with a PRICE on someones head. Since they don't want to accept ANY responsibility for his demise/actions that night at all.
