SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — Former neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman is questioning the expected use of a voice recognition expert at his murder trial next month.

Zimmerman's attorney filed a motion made public Monday asking for a hearing to determine whether testimony from a voice recognition expert would be allowed at trial.

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder for fatally shooting 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last year in a gated community in Sanford during a struggle. Zimmerman is pleading not guilty.

Neighbors called 911 during the struggle and cries of help can be heard on the calls. Martin's family claims the voice is that of the South Florida teen.

Zimmerman's father has said in court he believes the cries are from his son.

Zimmerman's attorney says jurors could be confused by an expert's testimony.

158 lbs is a far cry from 200 lbs Nativejax. The THUG is the one with 4 arrests for violent crimes including 1 for 2nd Degree Murder. Try not to get confused. It is murder when one is told to not follow someone and they continue to do so, killing a person who had every right to defend themselves. BTW, if YOUR case had any merit, you wouldn't have to lie and make stuff up, like the weight of the kid, who was only 2" taller than Zimmerman and who weighed nearly 50 lbs. less. How could Zimmerman, who worked as a bouncer for 2 years, not get this scrawny beanpole of a kid off of him? It's rediculous. You know it, George knows it and O'Mara knows it. The State doesn't need the experts. Let the jury hear the tapes. Uncontrollable more aptly describes one who would molest his cousin for 10 years beginning when she was 6 years old, disrespects the directive of law enforcement, is arrested twice for domestic violence, assaults an undercover cop and who shut his mother's electricity off when she disapproves of his choice of wife.

If Zimmerman shoved this 'boy' as you call him, in which I do not.(200 lb uncontrollable thug is more acurate) to the ground to get him OFF of him, and then was straddling Zimmerman and beating his head on the ground, and he THEN had to shoot him, IT IS NOT MURDER...it was STILL self defense. And I agree, a voice expert should have ALREADY been called in, and clear the air about WHO was screaming.

Let the jury hear the tapes of the screams and decide for themselves. The defense has the same opportunity to introduce their own voice experts. O'Mara knows it wasn't Zimmerman screaming. THAT'S why he wants to suppress this tape.

There is the issue of that. Who was the person we heard crying for help? Additonally the girlfriend of the deceased said she heard Zimmerman push the young man to the ground. This needs to testified to and why it has disappeared from the court statements. If Trayvon attacked first he commited a crime and it was self defense for Zimmerman, however, if Zimmerman started a fight then resorted to his gun then it is indeed murder as you should not have the luxury of starting a fight then resorting to deadly force after the fist fight goes against you.
