JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Downtown Jacksonville became a real life horror story Saturday. And it was all to get kids up and moving. Hundreds of children ran in the Zombie Buffet 5K.
It's called the Zombie Buffet because kids had to dodge the living dead who were reaching out to them for a snack. And by snack, we mean "them." It was all to promote fitness.
"We love Halloween, and we have been planning two or three months for this. My children only want to play on their video games, so this is a good way for them to get some exercise," said mother, Kristen Simandl.
We are happy to report all of the kids survived the zombies. All of the money raised benefits the Children's Miracle Network.
