Jaguars team up to help surrounding community

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) will be hosting a community revitalization meeting tonight at EverBank Field.

The goal is to help residents in three communities (Eastside, Springfield and Northwest Jacksonville) come up with a 10-year plan to beautify, restore and expand their areas.

Five items of interest that LISC hopes to help with are expand home investing, increase family income, stimulate economic development, increase education quality and support healthy environments and lifestyles.

The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. in the West Touchdown Club and interest has been so positive in these communities that the room is at capacity.
