I agree, RetiredJSO! Anyone driving with hands at 4 & 8 has little control. Always 10 & 2!!!! And HANG-UP the phone!

I do like this recommendation; "What can you do? AAA recommends taking it back to the basics. Don't run red lights, buckle up, don't drive distracted, keep your eyes on the road, hands on the wheel at 4 and 8" It would be a great thing if at least some people drove like that. Unfortunately "most" people appear to be in such a hurry, they focus on getting through the intersections even when the lights are changing. One of things that really stuck with me when I was in the military and had "Mandatory" driver's ed, was that exceeding the speed limit gets you to your destination sooner by just a few minutes. I drove from Arlington to NAS JAX for 20+ years. IF I was ever running late, I thought of the stupidity of driving faster only to gain a few minutes. Also the thought of a ticket or a collision was not worth it. Rather be late then getting stopped or hurt. I say IF, as I always gave myself 45 minutes to get there. Worked various shifts, but still made plenty of time to get to work. I realize there are times that one does run behind schedule, but when traveling the same roads at the same time as those you see everyday and they appear to ALWAYS be late, they are the ones that need lessons on time management and refresher driver's ed.

hands on the wheel at 4 and 8. Are you crazy? Hands go at 10 and 2 on the steering wheel
