JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The search for a new Duval County School Superintendent is set to move into a new phase on Thursday.

The school board is expected to meet with a search firm at 10 AM, to review candidate applications and narrow down the group to those they want to interview further.

Of the 30 candidates, three are locals including former Ribault High School Principal James Young, and two current district employees: Academic Officer Kathryn LeRoy, and Chief Operating Officer Doug Ayars.  The others come from educational systems all over the world.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10 AM. Action News will have complete coverage throughout the day.
