FEMA deadline in just hours

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tropical Storm Debby survivors only have a few hours to apply for federal aid to recover any losses.
 
Assistance is availble to those with damage to their homes, vehicles, or businesses that occured between June 23 and July 26 as a result of the storm.
 
Survivors are encouraged to apply, even if they've already received help from the Red Cross or local emergency officials.
 
In addition to FEMA, the Small Business Administration has low-interest loans available to small business owners who suffered loss.
 
The deadline to apply for both types of assistance is close of business Tuesday.
 
So far, $16 million has already been given to Florida residents as a result of Tropical Storm Debby.
 

The Small Business Administration is also offering low-interest loans to business owners rebuild. Just go to www.SBA.gov to apply. You can also apply for disaster loans at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. Applications are due Sept. 4.

 

You can sign up for Tropical Storm Debby recovery updates via email by going to www.fema.gov/Disaster/4068  and clicking the subscription link. It's a simple process that only requires a valid email address. During signup, subscribers can choose to receive updates immediately, daily or weekly.
