young adults not teenagers,, regardless of numerical age !!! and no we in st. john's county do not pay taxes in union or clay county, & our helicopter was used, so the fuel & crew charges alone should be laid at these 2 geniuses doorsteps !!! not to mention they placed every deputy at risk, by fabricating this story for police... someone besides the genius & her friend,,, could have been killed !!! and the wasted taxpayer funds & lost manpower hours, should be recompensed to all 3 agencies !!! make an example out of these 2,, make them the poster girls for truly stupid,, and you'll have less incidence of false claims...

Interesting that these girls came up with a story like this vice telling the truth. Makes me wonder why they made this up. I agree that they should receive some punishment. Something that would be grueling, no comfort, just some kind of hard physical labor. Silly little girls.

I think clemency in case like this goes along way. Give them probation as no one but they was harmed. As for cost we the people pay for the police in theory with our taxes. This dung of adding costs on to common citizens for services already paid for stinks to high hell. When the last time you seen celeberities pay for their police protection bills.

From the first moment I became aware of this fiasco on the news, I never believed a word of it. It just never sounded true. And, Union C. I. is an institution; NOT an 'institute'.

I say Yes! File charges! The money and manpower that was wasted on this hoax needs to be paid! This 'teenager' is an adult, and should be dealt with like one. Sometimes lessons are only learned the hard way.
