Body found on Jacksonville's westside at Jammes Road and Morse Avenue
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are investigating a body found in the ditch on the Westside.
Sgt. Jay Farhat says a man in his 20's or 30's was found dead from apparant gunshot wounds. A passerby found the body and called police around 7 a.m. Friday.
Sgt. Farhat says the shooting happened off Jammes Road just north of Morse Avenue.
Police have closed Jammes Rd. from Morse Ave. to Turknett. The area is completely blocked off by crime scene tape.
