JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- In just a few hours, Dr. Bill Cosby will be the honored guest at Duval County's education summit.

The two-day event is lead by Mayor Alvin Brown, who is working with the new Duval County Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti. One major goal of the summit is to get more Jacksonville parents involved in their child's education.

Dr. Bill Cosby will visit teachers and students at Raines High School Thursday morning at 10. He will also give a special performance at the Florida Theatre Thursday night.

The summit will continue Friday at the main library downtown. The focus then is community collaboration in education. U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education, Tony Miller, will give the summit's keynote address as part of the second day's activities.

The summit begins at 10 a.m.
