JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Navy-Marine Corp Classic is tonight. The Gators take on the Georgetown Hoyas on the deck of the USS Bataan at Mayport. It has taken about a week to transform the ship's flight deck into a 'basketball stadium'. The event will seat about 3,800 and tickets are already sold out.
The Navy-Marine Corps Classic is just one of the many events taking place in Jacksonville this week that honors our military. The week began with a Chamber of Commerce Military Appreciation Luncheon on November 5th. It continued last night with the Jaguars Military Appreciation Game. And tonight, with this basketball game.
The week of events will conclude with the annual Veterans Day Parade on November 12 in Downtown Jacksonville.
Tonight's events begin with a pre-game concert featuring 'Little Big Town'. Then tip off is at 9:15 p.m.
