JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- FSCJ has teamed up with the Wounded Warrior Project to give 24 wounded vets haircuts, massages and all kinds of great rewards.
"They're going to get their teeth cleaned, they're going to do some X-rays," said Bryan Wagner, a combat veteran wounded in battle. "They're going to get some lunch and get pampered because these guys do so much for this country. It's awesome when there is a city like Jacksonville willing to give back."
In December 2007, Bryan had his leg blown off by an IED. His leg was amputated, and that changed his life ... though not in the way you might think.
He is currently going to FSCJ for Athletic Training. His goal is to get his doctorate in physical therapy so he can work with other injured veterans somewhere like Walter Reed where he was treated.
He says he is more active now than before. In May, he'll be running in the mud run Tough Mudder, a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project.
