Festivities start at 11 a.m. at Moosehaven, located at 1701 Park Ave. The parade starts at the Kennel Club and goes down River Road to Moosehaven. Fireworks are at 9:30 and there will be rides and arts and crafts for the kids and live music all day. Tera and I will be there at noon and Tom Johnston will be there at 3 p.m.

Pack your blanket and a picnic or TreeCup Cafe will have everything you need for purchase, including food and drink, for this July 4th celebration. The RiverTown Band is performing, and they do want you to know the downtown fireworks display is obstructed, but the gallery is open at 6 p.m. for those attending the concert.

There will be a parade, watermelon and hot dog eating contests, Cornhole Tournament, Battle of the Bands, street festival and a very special event for preschool age “Lil’ Kahunas” and “Tiny Tikis.” At the end of the day, find a spot to watch a fabulous fireworks display at 9 p.m.

According to SearchAmelia.com, The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce and the Historic Fernandina Business Association announced that an initiative to privately raise $13,830 to pay for the annual fireworks display over the Amelia River reached its goal in less than two weeks. The Palace Saloon sponsored a fundraiser on June 14, and P5 Productions designed and donated a “Rock the 4th” T-shirt with proceeds going to the fireworks fund.
