All I can say about storm coverage is ... glad it's over. I love covering storms, but when it interferes with getting the word out about all that is good in our great city, I'm not a fan.
Fortunately, we were able to get back on track today and make sure you know about the fun and the fabulous that makes J-ville a place worth living.
For example - IT'S A FOOTBALL NIGHT!! Looking forward to seeing the Jags one more time before it matters. And late afternoon tailgating is always the best.
Plus, please don't miss the "Wake Up, Jacksonville! And Make a Difference with Tracy Dot Com." This sunrise yoga fundraiser is being led by TV personality The Willow and the proceeds go to benefit Special Olympics. All the money stays in Duval County, and it's part of the fundraising I have been tasked to do leading into the Dancing with the Stars competition next week.
Come out and support. Or, if you are like my girlfriend who asked, "Can I give you $20 NOT to do yoga?" The answer is, "YES!" You can donate at http://JaxDWTS.com and clicking on the Vote tab to vote for me.
Fifty percent of the competition is how much we raise, 50 percent how well we dance on Saturday, Sept. 8.
I honestly don't care if I win. It's all a win for Special Olympics.
Have a great Labor Day, and remember, if you're bored in Jacksonville ... it's your own fault!
