JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- When thousands of internet cafes throughout Florida were effectively shut down by a new law following the recent allied veterans of the world scandal, Governor Rick Scott and lawmakers in Tallahassee were targeting the legislation at illegal gambling that allegedly went on at some of those places.

Action News just obtained a copy of a new lawsuit against the state from an internet cafe owner in South Florida. The complaint alleges portions of the new law are "unconstitutional and therefore unenforceable."

The suit cites a portion of the legislation defining "...a device, system, or network is a prohibited slot machine..." if it can be used in a game if chance.

Because even a smartphone or any computer can access games of chance, some lawyers believe the legal wording is much too broad in scope.

Keep in mind freedom is already long gone in the US. Just about everything is illegal now. Ride manatee without hurting it go to jail. Defend your home from a bear go to jail. Save a baby deer and try raise it go to jail. Even though people can kill deer in hunting season how dare you try and save one. Expect papers to travel anywhere without authorization. Don't forget your passport can be used to track you up to 30 ft away unlike what the government said about it. Don't forget the new law where if you don't like what the President is doing and want protest it is turned into felony due to a special law concerning secret service. US Constitution only applies to big business now. Look at recent rulings against woman harmed by drug approved by the FDA.
