WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The United States Postal Service says it got its numbers wrong.
Action News Scott MacFarlane broke the story earlier this week of how the financially-strapped postal service is spending $2 million for its executives to attend a conference in San Francisco next month.
The conference includes meetings, but also a golf tournament, a dance party and dinner event.
The postal service first said it earned $73,000 for every dollar it spends at the conference. But today the agency backtracked. The USPS said it earns just $73, not $73,000.
About a dozen members of Congress have criticized the postal service for spending so much for its executives to attend. Congress may hold a special hearing.
