Solid and safety covers

Covering your pool can provide a number of advantages. A cover will not only promote solar heating and reduce the heat loss of your pool, but also decrease the time required to remove leaves and debris blown into the pool. Covers can be considered either solid or safety covers, with the primary difference being that safety covers present a physical cover for the pool and are secured to the deck or under the coping. Hydraulic lift, automatic, semi-automatic and anchored fabric covers are all safety covers. They are either attached tracks or anchors that hold them in place. The exception is the hydraulic lift cover, which sits on the pool and can then be raised to form a patio cover while the pool is in use. Solid covers resemble plastic blankets or sheets of plastic with air bubbles held in place over your pool with weights on deck. Your local pool distributor can provide additional information on the best cover to meet your needs.
