A large number of the injuries and accidents that chiropractors treat are those received at work or are job related. Included among these injuries are back, neck, and shoulder sprains, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Since chiropractic care is concerned with the correct alignment of the bones, the treatment of these injuries often involves manipulating bones and joints into their proper position. Chiropractors also use a variety of therapies including massage, heat, and ice to help such injuries heal. For a sprain, the chiropractor will often begin with ice treatments and muscular rest. Massage may be incorporated and then the joints will be manipulated into place. Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs as a result of extreme repetitive movement. Treatment will involve the alignment of the joints and therapeutic exercises.
