You've seen them in stores and office buildings, gathering possible evidence of crime, but did you ever consider using a surveillance camera to examine the quality of care your child is receiving? Childcare providers in your home, such as a nanny or an au (oh) pair, allow your family to enjoy convenience not always available when you use a daycare center or family daycare. Another big plus is the comfort your child experiences from remaining in the home environment. One drawback to childcare in your home can be the lack of supervision of the caregiver. In most cases, the provider is loving and concerned with the well-being and happiness of the child, but there've been some cases where the child has suffered abuse or neglect at the hands of the caregiver. If you'd like to see what happens in your home while you're not there, you can install video cameras. They can be hidden or out in the open and can either monitor or record what's occurring. Camera shops and child specialty stores often rent or sell cameras you can install to monitor events in your home. In fact, the peace of mind these cameras provide parents has prompted some daycare centers to install them, too.
