JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The United States of America will celebrate its 237th birthday on Thursday, July 4. In celebration of the holiday, festivities are scheduled in many municipalities.

Jacksonville

10 a.m. - 5 p.m. -- MOSH offers a $4 admission

4 - 10 p.m. Fourth of July Celebration presented by the City of Jacksonville
Live music at the Jacksonville Landing by the winners of the 555 Music Competition:

9:40 p.m. - Presentation of the colors and the National Anthem by the 125th Fighter Wing Color Guard & Jasmine Rhey

9:45 p.m. -- Fireworks in Downtown Jacksonville. Click here for information about boat docking, and other transportation.

Parking:
City lots and garages will be open from 5 - 10 p.m. Vehicles will be able to exit after 10 p.m. Prices vary from $5 - $10 per vehicle.

Main St. Bridge and Acosta Bridge will be closed during the fireworks show and will reopen immediately following the show.
Bridges will remain closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from the start of the fireworks show until it is clear.

Transportation:
Skyway will operate from 5 p.m. - midnight.  It's free.
S.S. Marine taxi will operate from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., with runs from the north and south banks of the St. Johns River.

Other events:
9:45 p.m. -- Riverside Arts Market hosting Fireworks Viewing from Under the Bridge.  Event features live music, food and drink.

Jacksonville Beach


Stars & Stripes at the Seawalk
Noon - 10 p.m.
The festival opens at noon, and performances begin at 2:00 with a military color guard presentation of colors. Tim White, accompanied by the Fletcher Brass Ensemble, will sing the Star Spangled Banner, followed by performances by the Fletcher Brass Ensemble, Sassy Tappers, local indie duo Flagship Romance, and The Top Secret Band. Country artist Craig Campbell performs at 5:30, courtesy of WQIK. At 6:45, Jacksonville Beach Mayor Charlie Latham and members of the City Council will recite the Declaration of Independence, followed by a performance of the Navy Band SouthEast Wind Ensemble. Fireworks go off at 9:00 and the Navy Rock Band concludes the festival with a performance at 9:20. 
A kids' zone will feature games, face painting, and art activities from noon until 4:00. In addition, the marketplace will have food trucks, arts and crafts and other vendors.

St. Johns County


Fireworks over The Matanzas
6 p.m. -- St. Augustine celebrates with a two hour concert performed by the All-Star Orchestra
9:30 p.m. -- The fireworks display will start at 9:45 p.m. and last around 20 minutes on 1 South Castillo Dr. in the heart of St. Augustine. Free admission.  Call 904-825-1004 for information.
This year's Fireworks Over The Matanzas will include 5,000 individual shells ranging in size from 1" to 12" in diameter. Some will explode as low as 100 feet above Matanzas Bay, others as high as 2,000 feet and everywhere in between.

Alcohol is not allowed on public property.  It's also illegal to have fireworks that explode or leave the ground.  You could be hit with a $1,000 fine.

Parking:
Rerouting traffic will be begin at 8:30 p.m. and will include the closing of the Bridge of Lions, Avenida Menendez and South Castillo Drive to all vehicle traffic.
Parking in city-owned lots and on-street is free on July 4 with the largest concentration of surface parking located on Granada Street behind the Lightner Building.
The Historic Downtown Parking Facility located at the Visitors Information Center can accommodate 1,200 vehicles. The rate is $10 per car per entry.
The parking lot at the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument will be closed between 6 - 11 p.m.

World Golf Village
World Golf Village will celebrate Independence Day with one of the biggest fireworks displays in Northeast Florida on
Friday, July 5. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and find a spot around the Walk of Champions to take in the Community Fireworks show.

Parking is limited and a minimal parking fee will be required for entry to the event. The fireworks are estimated to start at nightfall and are subject to weather conditions. There will be concessions around the Walk of Champions for the show; no outside food or beverages, glass or pets are permitted.

The American Pride 4th of July Celebration
11 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. -- American Pride Celebration kicks off at Moosehaven with live music, food and drink, and fireworks.
$5 admission between 3 - 8:30 p.m.
Kids 12 & under are free.
Jerrod Niemann concert starts at 7 p.m.
Fireworks start at 9 p.m.

Middleburg 4th of July Parade
9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Blanding Blvd, Middleburg.
The patriotic parade features an array of marching units, vehicles, floats and horse troops.

Country Day Celebrations
10 a.m. - Baby crawl behind City Hall
11 a.m. - Parade on Lawrence Boulevard
1 p.m. - Watermelon eating contest behind City Hall
