JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 57-year-old woman is dead after a crash on the Southside. It happened just before 8 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 95 just south of Philips Highway.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Julie Shepherd lost control of her Toyota SUV and veered into the right hand lane and into the path of a Chevy Camero. The two vehicles then veered onto the shoulder, hitting the guardrail before coming to a stop.

Shepard was killed in the collision. The driver of the Chevy Camero, 29-year-old Brian Bradley was not hurt.
