JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Scattered showers & storms will occur this evening through 8-9pm across metro Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georiga. A few of the storms will make a run at the beaches this evening but should mostly weaken as they approach/reach the coast. Brief heavy downpours, some hail and gusty winds will accompany storms before skies clear between 9pm and midnight. Temperatures will be very warm and muggy slowly dropping through the 80s. An upper level disturbance moving into the area Thursday should trigger more numerous afternoon storms that will produce heavy downpours, frequent lightning and strong winds. Before storms develop, temperatures will again top out in the 90s with heat indices 100+.
