Alligator attacks man in Lake City

LAKE CITY, Fla.-- This area may be Gator Country, but a group of local workers certainly didn't plan to see one up close. As they waded the waters of Lake Jeffrey, an 8-foot alligator decided to take a bite -- right out of a man's leg!

Seriously guys? No update on the man who was attacked by the gator? will he lose his leg? is he at home or in the hospital? how about his condition? This is one of the crappiest news station when it comes to accurate reports! Not to mention that almost every article doesn't get spell checked and usually misses at least a word if not more. SMH

wishmistress - It was a male gator and my husband said it was a territory attack. They had been there less than two weeks and my husband had been swimming all around the area of attack. He is not a person who just jumps in a body of water. Before he got in the water the first day he walked around looking for any signs of gators, slides, nests, packed down plants yada yada, he saw no such signs. It was just a freak attack but someone that live on the lake had been feeding it. I just pray that he does not lose the leg.

The victim is my husband and he's hanging in as best he can. I thank the Lord he is still alive. He has his leg but there is a chance infection can set in. I don't want to even think that. The article makes it sound like the three men who were part of the crew helped. They did not help until Mike got the gator off him, jumped into the canoe, tied a piece of rope around his leg and then paddled within 15 feet of shore. My husband is the type of man who might go down but is NOT going without a fight. Thanks for your concern iloveallhumans. Think I got your name right!

No, Ilove....only more rules on how to behave/not behave. They don't want you to fight your way away from the gator. Huh? Guess they expect you to carry an apple to pop in your mouth instead. These guys should consider working off a floating dock/flatboat to do their work. Hope his leg will be okay!

Not 1 single word about how the poor victim is doing after the attack? Really?
