Applebee's murder suspect pleads not guilty
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man accused of killing his estranged wife at an Applebee's restaurant pleaded not guilty.
Sheridan Veney, 44, attended court Monday morning via closed-circuit television from jail.
He pleaded not guilty to one count of second-degree murder in the death of Lisa Veney, just days after Christmas.
Investigators say the estranged couple had a fight at the restaurant on Lane Avenue.
Police said Sheridan Veney shot his wife five times in front of their daughter and customers, then waited for police.
