ATLANTA, Ga. (WSB-TV)-- A fan was stabbed in the neck after the NFC Championship Game outside of the Georgia Dome on Sunday night.

A witness told WSB Channel 2's Rachel Stockman a Falcons fan, who was upset about the team's loss, began arguing with a 49ers backer in the silver lot outside Gate D. The argument turned violent, and the Falcons fan was stabbed.

"Well, one of the falcons Fans just kept talking, telling him, "You ain't going to come here and win and nothing,' and he hit the man, and that's what happened. The man went into his pocket and cut him," witness Tony Morgan said.

Police used pepper spray after the scene turned chaotic. Officers believe they have recovered the knife used in the fight.

The 35-year-old victim is recovering at Grady Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

The attacker remains on the loose, and detectives are looking for witnesses to interview.
