BOLO alert helps nab murder suspect
COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers say a murder suspect from the St. Petersburg area is in jail thanks to an alert warned agencies to be on the lookout for him in North Florida.
Khonesavanh Kakhankham, 56, was arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol in Columbia County after he made a purchase at a Walmart in Gainesville, according to a press release.
Law enforcement had been on the lookout for the man after a BOLO was issued on Saturday evening.
Kakhankham is accused of opening fire on Khamfong Vixayarath during an argument at a mobile home park near St. Petersburg Saturday night.
Vixayarath reportedly died from his injuries.
The suspect was booked into the Columbia County jail and could be extradited to Pinellas County to face possible charges.
