PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Signs posted along A1A in St. Johns County are warning locals to keep their sprinklers off during the freeze Tuesday morning so black ice does not form on the road.

Black ice can be dangerous.  People often don't realize they are on black ice until it's too late.

Action News called Florida Highway Patrol, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, St. Johns County and Clay County Sheriff's office.

All law enforcement agencies say as of 4:30 a.m. Tuesday - no ice was reported on the roadways.
